Cichlid Diversity

You could say cichlids have a knack for evolution. From a small brown fish ancestor, hundreds of cichlid species evolved in Tanganyika. It didn’t happen overnight. It took millions of years to arrive at the dazzling variety of fish we see today. Cichlids now dominate the lake, each species with its own unique look and lifestyle.
